SUMMARY:

The education area has been most strongly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic since 2020, with the closure of educational institutions as a restrictive measure to contain contamination. On an emergency basis, schools needed to organize themselves for new didactic situations. School management needed to articulate the regulations with the possibilities to continue the educational processes in the most different educational realities. This context opened up educational and school inequalities that have become a concern on the world stage. The present study aims to investigate which actions and strategies were used by school management to develop educational processes in the pandemic and post-pandemic in public and private educational institutions in the district of Arraial d´Ajuda, Porto Seguro, Bahia. Specifically, it seeks to: analyze the academic production on education and school management and the aspects in greater evidence since the beginning of the emergency crisis; identify the legislation and regulations implemented during the pandemic period that guided school management actions; describe the developments on education - globally, nationally and locally – during the pandemic and post-pandemic; investigate how school management reorganized schools during this period, articulating all its dimensions in both public and private schools; investigate whether the principles of democratic management and quality education for all were maintained in this pandemic context; and establish similarities and differences between the actions of school managers in public and private networks. It takes as a theoretical reference the recent scientific productions on education and school management during the pandemic and some specific authors for the relationship of concepts such as: Rufino (2019; 2021) and Dubet (2004) about the discussion of inequalities, social justice and equity in education; and Lück (2009), Paro (1999; 2000) and Souza (2007; 2012) about school management concepts, principles and organization. The universe of the research will be the basic education schools of the public and private network of the district and their managers. The research has a qualitative approach with a bibliographic review of the integrative type with the descriptors "basic education", "school management" and "pandemic" used in the searches of the Portal de Periódicos da Capes and Scopus databases. In the second moment, a field research is being carried out with collection through participant observation and interview with a semi-structured scripted form. It is expected that after analyzing the data, the results of the research can contribute for a better understanding of the theme of education and the pandemic and of the actions of school management during this period and, in this way, help in the elaboration of public policies to minimize the consequences of this period on educational field.
