PAGES: 56
BIG AREA: Ciências Humanas
AREA: Sociologia
SUMMARY:

Love is considered one of the main themes of human life and has been researched in various circumstances and among different audiences. Although they are constantly stigmatized, people living on the streets can form affective relationships with others in the same condition, and they may continue to feel love for their families despite weakened bonds and the adverse conditions this context can provide. Thus, the present study aims to investigate how affections and affective/loving relationships constitute the subjectivity and life history of homeless women in the city of Porto Seguro, BA. More specifically, it seeks to understand the meaning these women attribute to love, the affective practices that occur in this context, and which aspects of gender roles are reproduced in these relationships. Additionally, it explores the meaning they attribute to experiences of gender violence they encounter in the course of their affective/loving relationships. This research is descriptive-exploratory, observational, and qualitative in nature, considering the need to become familiar with the phenomenon under investigation. The study will be conducted in the municipality of Porto Seguro, located in the extreme southern region of Bahia, at the Specialized Reference Center for the Homeless Population (Centro POP), a public facility linked to the Medium Complexity Special Social Protection of Social Assistance, which offers specialized services to the population in question. The information production processes will be carried out in two stages: the first is documentary, where sociodemographic data will be collected from records and screenings filled out by the technical team at Centro Pop; the second is fieldwork, where interviews will be conducted. For data analysis, the guidelines proposed by González Rey will be used, considering the relevance of subjectivity in the knowledge construction process that occurs during scientific investigation. This study is expected to present results that contribute to the political exercise of rights and the dignity of existing with autonomy, towards building a powerful movement that supports the re-existence of the subjective field of women experiencing homelessness.
