Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is an important, distressing and growing public health problem for all countries, regardless of their degree of development. The objective is to evaluate the proposal to use the electronic instrument for the identification of the risk of diabetic foot (e-Ped) in routine consultations of professionals of the Family Health Strategy, in the city of Porto Seguro (BA). It is a quantitative and qualitative research, with doctors and nurses from three Family Health Units in the city. The e-Ped proposal for use by health professionals during consultations with diabetic patients will be presented, in addition to permanent health education on the subject of the study, a semi-structured interview will then be held with these professionals to assess the use of e -Ped. It is divided into four stages: elaboration of the e-Ped intranet, validation of the e-Ped by experts in Family Health, application of the e-Ped by the professionals during consultations with diabetic patients, provided for permanent education and; evaluation of the process of using the e-Ped and continuing education, with the health professionals of the study. With the results, it is expected that the e-Ped will be a promising strategy to recommend and expand the city's Primary Health Care network, in order to act efficiently in this condition, avoiding severe complications for the diabetic patient and stimulating the self-care, prevention and health education.
