SUMMARY:

Fluvial geomorphology is essential to understand the behavior of water in relief. Water is an essential element for the functioning of ecosystems and life. Vegetation, on the other hand, has always had a relationship of dependence on water, since the phytogeographic distribution depends on water availability in the relief. And when it comes to water and vegetation, rivers and riparian forests are examples. The objective of this work is the geomorphometric analysis and the geoenvironmental diagnosis of the Almada river basin, based on the analysis of radar and satellite images. The study area is of strategic importance for regional development, as it is part of the water collection sources for the supply of the municipalities of Almadina, Barro Preto, Coaraci, Itabuna, Itajuípe and Uruçuca. A survey of extemporaneous and current radar and satellite images will be carried out, available free of charge at INPE, Google Earth and/or SAS.Planet, to support the analysis of hydraulic geometry through geomorphometric mapping of the basin, for knowledge of the shape and consequent hydrodynamic behavior of the study area. These materials will be used for the preparation of digital overlays on the availability of river channels and land use through QGIS 3.20.3 and Global Mapper 15 software.
