SUMMARY:

Scientific knowledge and the use of evidence are important in the formulation of public health policies, in order to ensure social rights and improve quality of life. In 2005, the World Health Organization's 58th World Health Assembly encouraged member countries to create mechanisms that promote the use of scientific knowledge in health systems and policies, leading to the creation of the Evidence-Informed Policy Network (EVIPNet). In Brazil in 2009, through Ordinance GM/MS No. 2,363, EVIPNet Brasil was created with the collaboration of several government and research institutions, reinforcing the commitment to building health policies that really work, based on reliable evidence. Since then, Working Groups have been established across the country, forming structures known as Health Evidence Centers (NEv), a powerful tool to boost, sustain and consolidate the integration of evidence in the decision-making process, as well as in the preparation and execution of public health policies. This work aims to evaluate the implementation of the Health Evidence Center of the South and Far South of Bahia, through a descriptive, methodological and documentary study using the checklist of domains proposed in the article Domains and process for institutionalizing evidence-informed health policy -making: a critical interpretive synthesis. This is an unprecedented study, which should provide support for evaluating compliance with the values of efficiency, rigorous methodology, transparency, innovation and responsibility towards the SUS of EVIPNet Brazil. As a result of this work, it is expected to obtain a report on the implementation of NEv, describing the steps achieved and resulting in publications in scientific journals.
