SUMMARY:

The health care pervades a complex medley of standard and professional behavior that has become the obstetric assistance technicist and low humanized. Among the various obstacles experienced, before, during and post partum is the obstetric violence (OV), when health professionals establish a power relationship and control over the bodies of women who pervades the vulnerable moment of the pregnancy-puerperal process. The objective of this study is to analyze the experiences of health professionals during institutional childbirth, in perspective of the ethics of care, and to promote strategies to prevent obstetric violence in two maternity hospitals of a municipality in the south of Bahia. The research will be a qualitative approach, with a descriptive and exploratory character, will be carried out with health professionals who work in the two maternity hospitals, seeking elements of the ethics of care in the perception and professional practice of those involved, in the context of natural or cesarean delivery. The Dialectic Structural Model of Care (MEDC) will be the method adopted to support the collection and analysis of data and participants will be invited to voluntarily participate in semi-structured interviews and in the proposal for permanent health education, in order to promote humanized childbirth in the perspective of Carol Gilligan's theory about ethics of care. This research hopes that analyzed data can describe the perception and practice developed in obstetric care and the results can reflect on obstetric violence and the benefits of humanized childbirth, both for women, health professionals and institutions dedicated to maternal assistance in the SUS, and if possible, extend the learning from these experiences and practices to all health professionals in the maternal care network in the municipality.
