Methodologically qualitative strategies are employed: the case study, children’s drawings, semi-structured interviews for collecting representations, use of the campus diaries and from this, to perform the triangulation of the data. The use of these strategies allowed us to determine: a) certain memories hatch as a propeller of consciousness to preserve the environmental resources of the community; b) there is the evidence, by some older residents, little involvement of young people in the preservation process and care related to the region´s natural resources; c) the increase of eucalyptus plantation is put as quite negative, due to significant changes in the environment and community behavior; d) the absence of state public polities to the needs of the community and, finally, e) children's representations signal a romanticized view of the community and dissociation between what is represented by the adults in relation to the younger ones
