RESUMO:

The present research seeks to identify the pedagogical practices of environmental education that took place at the headquarters of the Tupinambá Indigenous State College of Acuípe de Baixo in Ilhéus - BA, in order to understand if the constitutional guarantee for the promotion of environmental education at all levels of education reaches the researched school environment . It also identifies whether there are reflections on the legal and social effects in the educational institution, as provided for in the legal provisions that guarantee the promotion of environmental education, in addition to raising awareness for the preservation of the environment. It should be noted that according to Sorrentino (1995), the main objective of EA is “to contribute to the conservation of biodiversity, to individual and community self-realization and to political and economic self-management, through educational processes that promote the improvement of the environment environment and quality of life ”. It was carried out through a qualitative methodology, with bibliographic research and data collection through questionnaires and interviews, in an attempt to produce a case study of Indigenous Environmental Education at the aforementioned school that is located in a Tupinambá indigenous community marked by stories of struggles and a lot of resistance, since it is located in the “cradle” of Portuguese colonization in Brazilian lands. For this purpose, the present work aims to identify the pedagogical practices of Environmental Education in the Tupinambá Indigenous State College of Acuípe de Baixo in Ilhéus - BA, contrasting the data obtained with the legislation in force, in order to give a return to the Public Power and the educational institutions , as well as society in general, especially the local population, so that they can reflect, and seek the realization of their rights through public policies, awakening a social and ecological awareness as a way of improving the quality of life, thus contributing to the development Social
