Environmental Education in the context of Field Education is configured as an important challenge to be overcome. Especially in schools located in rural regions whose predominance of monoculture impacts the socio-environmental environment and may influence the teaching of environmental education. In this sense, this project aims to know the challenges and prospects of teaching Environmental Education in rural schools in the rural community of Vera Cruz. For this, a qualitative research will be developed, using the methodology of action research. The data will be collected in 4 rural schools in the community of Vera Cruz in Porto Seguro / BA, through semi- structured interviews with 12 teachers who teach the subjects of science, agroecology, biology and geography. In addition to the observation of the PPP of each of the schools researched. The results are expected to point to possible factors that influence the teaching of environmental education in rural schools.
