SUMMARY:

Sap flow measurements have been an important tool for estimating transpiration in canopies. The genetic improvement of the genus Eucalyptus, over the years, has shown significant results in the improvement of the species. In this sense, the present study aims to analyze the behavior of sap flow in two eucalyptus clones species VCC865 (Eucalyptus urophylla) and CO1407 (Eucalyptus grandis), for transpiration estimation, considering that areas of eucalyptus vegetation cover tend to present greater evapotranspiration and consequently less water surplus. Therefore, measurements are being carried out daily throughout the year 2022 through the thermal dissipation method, to estimate the sap flow. Thus, it is expected to observe important asymmetries between the two eucalyptus species, in order to estimate the transpiration of the two species. With this research we intend to bring important information about the mechanisms of water use in eucalyptus monoculture, in addition, such results can help other researches, since there is still little information related to the use of water in this type of vegetation cover.
