Resumo do trabalho em Inglês: The “New Forest Code”, established by Law no. 12,651/12 makes the rural environmental registry “CAR” mandatory for rural properties and possessions in order to compose a database for control, monitoring, environmental and economic planning and combating deforestation. The CAR is an instrument within the scope of SINIMA, it has a national declaratory nature and should preferably be carried out by municipal and state environmental agencies. The state of Bahia, with its own system, has been registering through the SEIA BA system the State Forestry Registry of Rural Properties "CEFIR", with the purpose of promoting environmental regularization for control and monitoring purposes, thus collaborating with the maintenance of the Atlantic Forest Biome. . This work aims to filter and map the amount of CAR in Brazil, adhesions to the PRA and rural properties that have CEFIR in the extreme south of Bahia, thus monitoring the areas registered in the municipality of Caravelas. The methodology used was document analysis through laws, decrees and norms related to the Forest Code and specifically to CAR, analysis of data related to properties registered in the Rural Environmental Registry System (SICAR) and literature review, using Qgis software, google Earth pro and data available on the SICAR, Geobahia and SEIA BA platform for mapping and extracting the features of the municipalities in the extreme south of Bahia. It was found that with the creation of the CAR by the New Forest Code, it provided an integrated system of environmental information with the possibility of quantifying and enabling the regularization of the environmental liabilities of rural landowners and squatters, as well as a system capable of contributing to environmental monitoring and inspection. . There are already 6.5 million rural properties registered throughout Brazil, totaling an area of 612,567,861 hectares entered in the SICAR system database, of which the state of Bahia has a registered area of 34,938,701 hectares and 972,687 registrations have been made. , in which only 542 records and 429,533 hectares underwent some type of analysis. Of these, the Extreme South of Bahia has 19,606 registered properties and an area of 1,409,158.86 hectares and in the municipality of Caravelas there are 1691 registered properties. However, these public data are in practice little used in monitoring by environmental agencies, as in the State of Bahia, which has 0% of rural properties analyzed.
