Analysis of the coastal vulnerability index to erosion in the region of Porto Seguro and surroundings
Discovery Coast, geoprocessing, coastal environments
Coastal zones can be defined as a small strip of land, air, and ocean transition, considered one of the most dynamic and sensitive environments on the planet because it shelters a diversity of environmental features. In the coastal plain of Porto Seguro - BA it is possible to observe several foci of coastal erosion, either by natural or anthropic indicators. In this context, studies on coastal vulnerability have become increasingly relevant. Thus, this project aims to evaluate the coastal vulnerability index of the region of Porto Seguro-BA and surroundings through geo-indicators. The evaluation of the Coastal Vulnerability Index will be done, through the use of qualitative and quantitative parameters, which synthesize the local environmental, anthropic and physical characteristics of the coast, to classify the coast as subject to low, medium or high vulnerability to coastal erosion.
