RESUMO:

The present research proposes a comparative study between two Hospital Units in the city of Eunápolis, in the Intensive Care sector, with different organizational models, besides presenting more sustainable strategies based on Cleaner Production (P + L) in these sectors, with views reduction of waste and waste. It is valid to emphasize that Eunápolis Hospitals receive daily a great demand of patients, which probably results in the high consumption of materials and consumptions, consumption of gases, water, energy besides the necessary and consequently the greater production of the hospital garbage, contaminated or do not. The fact that there is no Environmental Management System in the hospitals under study can contribute to the negative impacts on the environment. In order to make the P & L implantation feasible in the aforementioned hospital, a general evaluation will be necessary in each unit and the selection of a sector through pre-established criteria. It is hoped that with this research it will be possible to apply P & L strategies so as to observe the improvement of operational practices by the professionals involved, management of resources at source to avoid waste of materials and reduce solid waste production.
