Sustainability management of ecovillages: proposal of a governance model
ecovillage, sustainability management, governance
Ecovillages are a subject in evidence because of the increasing numerical multiplication of this model of sustainable human settlement around the world as a response to the installed environmental crisis. Because it is a relatively new and dynamic concept, academic works on ecovillage are still few and of an interdisciplinary nature. Understanding the perception of ecovillage residents on sustainable management requires attention to subjectivity and opportunities linked to the relationship of identity with other constructs to guide the construction of a proposal for effective and practical governance. Qualitative research, with an exploratory character, with analytical-descriptive orientation, through interviews through questionnaires structured with closed and open questions, initiated after previous approval of the Committee of Ethics in Research and informed oral consent of the interviewees. The subjects are the residents of the Piracanga (Maraú Peninsula - BA) and Terra Luminous (Juquitiba - SP) ecovillages. The interpretation of the material will be collect followed the teachings of "content analysis". The interviewees will be approached regarding the perception about management, conflicts, governance and sociocracy. From this research it is hoped that discussions on ecovillage governance will be expanded and will contribute to the improvement of existing communities and the development of empirical cases as well as the planning of new initiatives
