RESUMO:

The Umbandaum Afroindigenous Cultural Anthropology Group operates in Caravelas and other cities and towns that constitute the extreme South of Bahia for more than thirty years, resisting the struggle for the valorization of ethnic-cultural identities. The research product proposal is a documentary in which we record several narratives of past and present participants of the group about the socio-educational practices of Umbandaum and how these lend themselves to the processes of construction of identities. Through the narratives we try to elaborate a record on the history and the memory of the group. In this sense, the objective of the research is to analyze the cultural manifestations practiced by the Umbandaum afroindigena anthropology group through the use of corporal expression in the process of political and identity resistance. The research that originated the documentary began at the end of 2017 when field activities began to be developed. At the beginning of 2018, as a research methodology, a survey of theoretical references, analysis of publications, reports of the founders and collaborators of the Umbandaum group was carried out, in order to elaborate a script of themes and questions for the data collection for the construction of the product (documentary), which is in the final process. The previous results of the research indicate that the group, using body expression as a language and symbol of political and identity resistance, transforming it into a discursive construction that incorporates their opinion and cultural formation, contributes to raising awareness in some aspects of plural society in which is inserted, promoting the strengthening of ethnic-cultural identities. Thus, in recording all this memory and strength that the group brings along these years, it is understood that they have a creative potential repercussion in the educational role to reflect cultural, social and political aspects in the region.
