This memorial fulfills the purpose of presenting the process of construction of a Didactic Sequence, elaborated as final product of the professional master's course in Teaching and Ethnic-racial relations. The sequence is about "The history of the Quilombola community of Helvécia". The study analyzes the importance of the didactic sequence as a methodological tool in the teaching and learning process and its contributions to the inclusion of Afro-Brazilian and African history in the school curriculum, as emphasized by the antiracist laws and LDB, 9394/96. The main objective of the research was to produce a didactic sequence based on the contributions of a study group of quilombola teachers from the community of Helvécia, which facilitates the mediation of knowledge about ethnic-racial relations, thus being a subsidy for the applicability of In this sense, the references used to support the research and the discussion meetings held at the school about the teaching of ethnic-racial relations were theoretically and methodologically based on the proposed questions by Nilma Lino Gomes (2006), Luís Fernandes de Oliveira (2005) and Vera Maria Ferrão Candau (2014), Miguel Arroyo (2011), as well as the text of Laws 9394/96, 10639/03 and 11645/08, the two last ones, which advocate the teaching of African History, Culture, Afro-Brazilian and Indigenous in the basic school curriculum.
