RESUMO:

The work, in progress, presents the product Karingana wa Karingana: Notebook of Pedagogical Practices in Early Childhood Education, in an e-book format, part of the professional master's research Karingana wa Karingana: beteween African and Afro-Brazilian Stories, Graduate Studies in Teaching and Ethnic-Racial Relations - UFSB. The main objective of the research is to promote antiracist pedagogical practices in Early Childhood Education through work with African and Afro-Brazilian children's literatures, in order to expand possibilities of actions with literatures and ethnic-racial themes. The research locus was a public school of Early Childhood Education located in the municipality of Teixeira de Freitas - BA, in which, in addition to collecting data about the status of Afro-Brazilian and African Literature teaching in that locality, training workshops were offered for teachers on the subject. The formative actions were structured through interviews and questionnaires previously carried out, indicating the gaps that the teachers had in relation to children's literature, storytelling and ethnic-racial relations. Consequently, the teaching group built projects, which were applied in their classrooms and integrated the practices reported in the product-book. The theoretical basis of this work is based mainly on Eliane Debus, Cuti, Anete Abramowicz, Azoilda Trindade and the official documents that contribute the research. The Karingana wa Karingana project proposed to discuss pedagogical practices for diversity based on the use of literatures and stories that brought ethnic-racial themes, as literatures broaden the world view of the reading child and, in a playful way, make it possible to approach different universes. When we think about early childhood education, we must take into account that it is a significant space for the identity formation of children and, in this sense, the school should provide a diversity of experiences for all children to feel represented. When reflecting on the importance of Early Childhood Education and the possibilities that the literature has in sensitizing children to ethnic-racial relations, the present project intends to contribute to the teaching of African and Afro-Brazilian history and culture from the strengthening of pedagogical practices based on in children's literatures.
