RESUMO:

The purpose of this project is to analyze the process of inserting african studies in the degree curricula of federal universities located in the state of Bahia, in order to understand the impacts caused by this insertion in the curricular structure of these institutions. It is worth mentioning that this debate is necessary for us to understand the effects generated by historiography, national identity and the construction of marginalized identities, seeking to assess whether and how the emergence of these discussions affects these narratives, both academic and social. For this, we will start from the study of the evolution of african studies in Brazil, we will analyze the insertion of african studies subjects in universities starting from law 10.639/03 (confirmed and expanded by law 11.645/2008), and then, we will discuss the changes made in the structures curricula of these institutions, evaluating whether and how these elements have contributed to the academic education of students in the theaching undergraduate courses of these universities, considering their institutional and regional plurality. This research proposal has as specific objectives: a) to analyze the history of creation of federal universities in the state of Bahia; b) discuss the need for african studies in theaching undergraduate courses; c) to discuss the insertion of african studies subjects in these institutions after the enactment of law 10.639 / 03 d) to evaluate the workload and the basic bibliography of these subjects in different universities; e) understand whether and how the emergence of these discussions impacted these courses. In order to carry out this study, we will carry out a mapping of the subjects and their menus, as well as interviews with teachers who teach the curricular components of african studies in these institutions. As an educational product, an interactive website will be developed in order to make diverse training material accessible, bringing together the contents of african studies discussed at the university, to the society and the general public.
