RESUMO:

The historiography of people of African descent, on Brazilian soil, is permeated by segregations and physical and symbolic violence. The ill-fated and violent epistemicide of African peoples and their descendants, fueled by the Eurocentric civilizing process, shaped many stigmas imprinted on the bodies of these peoples. Sickle cell disease, one of the racial stigmas, explains the reasons for the invisibility of pathology and institutional racism, generating discrimination and difficulty in accessing public policies by the black population and treatment. In this context, this research aims to research how continuing education takes place with professionals working in the services of the Unified Health System (SUS), in the municipality of Eunápolis -BA, within the scope of primary health care, medium, high complexity in relation to the Afro-descendant population with sickle cell disease and access to multidisciplinary treatment in the network. The methodological discursive route uses action research with a qualitative, descriptive and exploratory character of a qualitative and quantitative nature, through the survey and analysis of data from the Afro-descendant population with sickle cell disease raised in the Specialized Pharmaceutical Assistance of the Operational Health Base of Eunápolis, at the Eunápolis Regional Blood Center and at the Eunápolis Health Secretariat in 2018. The theoretical contribution dialogues with concepts, laws and regulations in the field of public health, health management and planning, Unified Health System, health of the black population, anemia sickle cell.
