Language and racism: Decolonization of vernacular language teaching
Language. Racism. Discrimination. Teaching.
The aim of this investigation is to understand how traditional teaching of the vernacular language and Eurocentric theoretical-methodological choices favor or not linguistic racism and the invisibility of black epistemologies. In order to investigate this problem, we intend to know the theoretical and methodological assumptions, the language and language conception, and the selection of didactic and paradidical material adopted by the teachers and the curriculum, in order to promote changes in the practices of language teaching and in selection of theoretical-methodological assumptions.
