RESUMO:
The present dissertation seeks, from the erudition of the distinct individualities and particularities of
Brazilian ethnic-racial relations, to discuss how fatphobia and racism affect the black community and
what are the effects of the intersection of these oppressions in the personal and school lives of black and
fat. Taking a pluri-methodological route, the action research method is used in a qualitative approach
and the main technical tools are bibliographic research, documental research, semi-structured interviews
and the focus group. Having as a field of research a group of education professionals, teachers and the
governing body of the José Victor Figueiredo Municipal School of the Municipality of Eunápolis-BA,
its primary objective leans on the attempt to produce and present a product a digital booklet in the scope
of education that allows the development of strategies to combat the fatphobic prejudice and racism
existing in the school environment, guiding pedagogical possibilities that give rise to the positivization
of the identities of black and fat people who have their self-esteem historically mutilated by racial
violence and patriarchal and colonial aesthetic standards.
