SUMMARY:

The report deals with the trailer for the documentary under construction, Os Brutos: funk and quilombola culture in Helvécia. The general objective is to understand how this group acts by promoting a generational shock in the community with its funkeira parties and resignifying important traditions, especially that of the black brotherhoods, still alive in Helvécia in the brotherhood of São Sebastião, which promotes important festivities, such as the pulling of the mast of São Sebastião and the feast of the Moors and Christians. For this purpose, an ethnographic methodology was used, carried out in a community experience and in interviews with the young people of the Os Brutos group and the older ones there. It is hoped that this documentary will contribute to the discussions in Basic Education about contemporary quilombola culture and its contacts with other peripheral black cultures in Brazil.
