SUMMARY:

The research deals with the manifestation of popular culture called Boi Duro, which takes place in the town of Santo Antônio, in the municipality of Santa Cruz Cabrália, in the extreme south of Bahia. In the study in progress, we aim to articulate how the teaching-learning processes can be practiced from this cultural manifestation and what Léa das Graças Camargos Anastasiou (2004) understands as teachings and how they can be useful in the teaching of History, in the context of Education Basic. Songs, dances, ways of organizing manifestations and cultural practices make up the elements of our cultural repertoires, without which the understanding of our existence would be incomplete and which, therefore, constitutes different languages and ways of reading the world, and it is this world that interests us.
