SUMMARY:

The research analyzes themes related to racism and sexism in the public service and its impact on the life stories of black women belonging to these spaces, specifically, the teaching, technical and outsourced servants of the Federal University of Southern Bahia. With this, I intend to demonstrate how the protagonism of black women in spaces of power can inspire other women and promote it through legislation, such as Decree nº 11.443/2023, which provides for the filling by black people of a minimum percentage of positions in commission and functions of trust within the scope of the federal public administration, the occupation of these spaces. From the questions about how women, especially black women (brown and black) are constituted as administrative agents of the institution and the way in which the configurations of power spaces are distributed or jobs are managed, I propose to understand is: from How do black women, professors, technicians and outsourced workers at UFSB, tell their stories? Is there gender and race equity in decision-making spaces? Does the fact that we have a black dean make UFSB an institution where policies to combat inequalities are respected? The criteria adopted for the selection of the research interlocutors considered gender and race as a cutout and, from this universe of multiple identities, their relationships and the differences experienced by each one of them in their professional processes. Taking the life stories of the research interlocutors as a motto, we will problematize their formative paths, relating them to the way they understand the function of education in the processes of construction and strengthening of sociocultural identities.
