The historical milestone of slavery in the world was something disastrous, there is no doubt about that fact. Black people were captured on the African Continent and loaded into tumbeiros that crossed the Atlantic until they reached their destination. And one of those was Brazil, unfortunately! It is undeniable that the pain suffered by the black population as a result of this process has persisted to this day, despite more than 130 years of abolition. And, one of these pains is that of Racism, which in addition to being a crime is a humanitarian harm that needs to be eradicated from the face of the earth. In view of the above, this paper focuses on analyzing which pedagogical strategies were applied by the Municipal Education System of Teixeira de Freitas, specifically in the initial years of Elementary School, regarding the implementation of law 10.639/2003, as well as verifying what effects it has been producing in the school curriculum, in order to effectively contribute to the fight against Racism. The research under consideration is supervised by Professor Dr. Ronilson de Souza Luiz, in the Postgraduate Program in Teaching and Ethnic-Racial Relations – PPGER – UFSB, Campus Paulo Freire, the purpose of which is the present summary at this time is to register the research in the first qualification exam in the aforementioned Program.
