RESUMO:

In view of the productive growth in the performance of marine shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei and knowing that the use of the protease enzyme in their diet can reach significant high values, research in the area is of paramount importance. There are still important gaps to be investigated, such as physicochemical parameters, applications in a greater number of crops and different types of crops, relationship with quantitative levels of protease application, source of ideal substrates, among others. In this context, the objective was to quantify, through a systematic review with meta-analysis, the effect of the use of protease in Litopenaeus vannamei shrimp diets. The search algorithm was built using formal descriptors from the DeCS and MeSH bases, together with keywords organized in concept blocks according to the PICO strategy (Participants, Intervention, Comparison and Results (Participants, Intervention, Comparison and Outcomes) to define the search strategy to be carried out in the selected databases for the searches. During the research, several search strategies were developed and tested in the selected search sites (PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, Science Direct and Scielo). and analyses, the use of protease in shrimp diets increases daily weight gain by 0.03g, improves feed conversion efficiency with a reduction of 0.17g/g, even without significantly altering flock survival.
