RESUMO:

The southern region of Bahia has the most significant remnants of the Atlantic Forest and an agroforestry system known as cocoa cabruca, which has favorable characteristics for the emergence and/or growth of macrofungi, due to the hot and humid climate and significant contribution of organic matter in the soil. the hot and humid climate and significant contribution of organic matter in the soil, agricultural and economic potential. The objective of this work was to search for native species that have any of these characteristics and induce them to produce basidiomes in a controlled manner. The collections were carried out at Fazenda Guabiraba located in the municipality of Itabuna, Bahia, in the months of September, October, November and December 2021. The material collected was taken to the laboratory for macro and micromorphological identification. The specimens were isolated and subcultured in PDA culture medium (Potato Dextrose Agar) until obtaining axenic cultures. Of the isolated fungi, the culture of Lentinus concavus was selected because it is a species not yet registered for the Brazilian northeast and eaten in the Brazilian Amazon and in other Latin American countries. The inoculum (“spawn” or “seed”) was obtained from the matrix culture using autoclaved white rice. For the production of basidiomes (fruiting) the substrate sugar cane, crushed and autoclaved, has been tested so far. There was a good colonization of the substrate but no fruiting so far. For the morphological classification, the macroscopic and microscopic characteristics of the fungus were observed and compared with the descriptions of the species in the national and foreign literature. The closest species was L. concavus. Molecular classification was attempted through sequencing with the ITS marker, not reaching any species. No sequencing of this species is deposited in public banks. Other markers are being tested to complete the molecular study. After the qualification, studies with other substrates will be implemented in order to obtain the basidiomes and conclude the dissertation consisting of two chapters: the first recording the occurrence of Lentinus concavus in the Northeast; and the second reporting the results obtained in the production of basidiomes.
