SUMMARY:

The search for effective actions in the prevention and control of arboviruses such as Dengue, Chikungunya and Zika has been one of the challenges of great relevance that Brazilian Public Health has faced over the years. In this sense, the goal of this study is to analyze the work practices of the Endemic Combat Agents (ACE), to understand the limits and possibilities of these actions and of the public policies related to the formation of these professionals, given the situation of the Dengue, Zika and Chikungunya in the city of Teixeira de Freitas – BA. This is a study of qualitative nature with double approach: documentary and exploratory. For the data collection, semi structured interviews, researcher’s field diary, and a survey of the official documents on the public policies and official data, of the Municipal Epidemiological Surveillance, related to the arboviruses Dengue, Chikungunya and Zika will be employed. The analysis will be carried out through Content Analysis, in light of Bardin (2011). Therefore, with this study the expectations are: a) to produce a reflection on the prevention, control and combat of arboviruses through the work practices of the ACE and their reports; b) to identify, through the reflection of the previous item, the operational limitations and possibilities of the ACE, as well as possible incongruities of the formative policies for these professionals in relation to their practices and to the context in which the city of Teixeira de Freitas – BA finds itself.
