SUMMARY:

Water resources are an element of fundamental importance in the composition of natural ecosystems, for human
survival and in several contexts. In view of the above, the research aims to analyze aspects related to water security in a rural community in the city of Eunápolis – BA, based on data obtained by the Socio-environmental Development for Family Farming project, developed by the Center for Studies in Agroecology and Organic Production Pau Brasil. The project methodology was outlined in stages, which consisted of: exploratory research, which allowed the study area to be selected through the analysis of technical reports; systematization and compilation of secondary data; and the collection of primary data, including monitoring the flow of two stretches of the João de Tiba river in the 2 de Julho and Nova Vitória associations, for this purpose a one-dimensional micro-window from the MedirTM is being used. The results of the microbiological parameters showed that all monitored points revealed contamination. The physical and chemical parameters presented some values higher than the regulation by resolution 357 of Conama and/or Ordinance 888/2021 of the Ministry of Health. Flow monitoring is being carried out at the aforementioned points once a month, in addition to this, values were obtained of flow through the regionalization of the Buranhém river basin due to having a database and presenting edaphoclimatic conditions similar to those of the monitored river. The results of the forms applied to the 2 de Julho association will allow us to obtain data to expand information on the topic. Actions are also being planned to popularize scientific knowledge through the publication of articles and the return of information and research data to the association. Through the preliminary results it is possible to note the commitment of the surface waters of the 2 de Julho association, which increases the importance of presenting other alternatives that allow access to water resources with appropriate conditions of use.
