IOT (INTERNET OF THINGS) APPLICATIONS FOR CREATION OF AN OPEN-SOURCE SOLUTION PROTOTYPE IN ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGIES.
internet of things, environmental sensing, remote sensing, photovoltaic power, ARDUINO.
Internet of things (IoT) is a technology established in our days, and undoubtedly has the greatest prospect of grown in the coming years. According from technology research firm STATISTA, more "things" will be connected in a market expected to reach 50 billion devices by 2020, moving globally 1 trillion dollars. Given the situation of an massification of use of internet of things and its possibilities of "do it yourself", the present dissertation was composed of 2 segments. The first one aims at exploring the different possibilities through the "state-of-the-art" on the promising IOT technologies based on the ARDUINO platform (and its compatible sensors and devices), proposing a programmable prototype through a coding framework and sending data to the cloud. The second proposal is a continuous power system for IoT based on photovoltaic power generation and lithium batteries. Both propositions made on the environmental focus are intended to help researchers build their own devices for remote sensing.
