“AN ANALYSIS OF THE MODE ORGANIZATION OF CEILING FIGHT MOVEMENT - MLT - IN THE CITY OF TEIXEIRA DE FREITAS / BA AS A SOCIAL MOVEMENT URBAN CONTEMPORARY".
Housing. Occupation. Social organization. Citizenship.
This paper aims to discuss and analyze the organization of the Fight for Ceiling Movement - MLT, through a case study in the occupation Rosa Luxemburg, seeking to verify how this movement took place in the city of Teixeira de Freitas - Bahia as a contemporary urban social movement and their forms of organization, noting how this reflects on the way of life of the homeless. We verified the existence of a peculiar and differentiated way of creating the strategies of struggle, communication with the governmental organs and way of life of its occupants, because it is an urban and contemporary interior social movement. Conceptually we approach social movements from the studies of Maria da Gloria Gohn (1997 and 2014) and Ruth Cardoso (1987 and 2008), which contributed to a better understanding of the specificities of contemporary urban social movements. In this chapter, we also work on the concept of citizenship according to Evelina Dagnino (2004) and urban housing problems with teacher Erminia Maricato (2015). Finally, we try to define what we mean by social organizations, from some classics to contemporary authors. The techniques used involved data collection and analysis of local media and videos of the general assemblies and semi-structured individual interviews with the movement's leaders, occupants and municipal executive authorities of that city.
