Border bodies at the crossroads of sharing: the meeting between a "catulada" researcher and three Yás in Trancoso: Bahia
Crossroads; Body; Knowledge; Candomblé; Trancoso-BA.
The present study raises questions, based on experiences, exchanges and sharing of knowledge, about the bodies of three Yalorixás from three Terreiros de Candomblé in the Far South of Bahia. In the middle of the crossroads, a brief review of studies centered on Terreiros de Candomblé and the body in/of Candomblé was brought. The concept of the Crossroads of Sharing emerged as a research methodology because it is considered that it is at the crossroads that it becomes possible to bring together different methods, such as Ethnography, the Game of Poetic Construction and Biography. As techniques for sharing and exchanging knowledge, participant observation, conversations and informal meetings and interviews were used. The notebook, or logbook, was also a support for revisiting strategies and redirecting future actions. This Xirê, in the sense of a more intimate return to our “beginning, middle and beginning” ancestry, aimed to problematize the border dimensions of the Yalorixás’ bodies, gender roles; the sacred and the profane, recognizing the intersectionality of cruelties and the body as a field of possibilities as investigative premises. Thus, these nodal chicks evoked distinct interdisciplinary conceptual approaches.
