Knowledge about Medicinal Plants and Integrative and Complementary Practices in FHUs in Eunápolis, BA.

The search for natural resources for therapeutic purposes is ancient by humanity, with plants being the most used resource. The realization of the local diagnosis of the ICHPs are of great value, since they are actions that promote the maintenance of health, mitigate the risks of diseases and complications, rehabilitate health and strengthen traditional knowledge in order to create a greater bond with health professionals, community and the environment. It is intended to evaluate the knowledge and use of ICHPS, with emphasis on medicinal plants and herbal medicines by health professionals and users of FHUs in the municipality of Eunápolis, Bahia. This is an exploratory, descriptive, cross-sectional study, with a quantitative and qualitative approach, to be carried out in five FHUs through semi-structured interviews with 25 health professionals and 375 users of the FHUs. It is expected that the results of this study show that, especially users of FHUs have a traditional and cultural knowledge about the use of medicinal plants and are open to the insertion of ICHPs in health units, especially phytotherapy.
