The work environment has become increasingly competitive, especially in a globalized world. Within the neoliberal logic, there are pressures from all sides for an increase in productivity to the detriment of the worker's health and well-being and there is a growing movement of precarious work. The relationships that are established at work, in this context, are often marked by hostility and violence, where the phenomenon of moral harassment takes place. Thus, the focus of this research is the phenomenon of moral harassment. The investigation will take place in the area of public service, contemplating the public policy of Social Assistance as a field of research. The general objective is to map the occurrence of moral harassment within the scope of the brazilian Unified Social Assistance System - (Sistema Único de Assistência Social - SUAS), aiming to investigate the relationships of this phenomenon with precarious working conditions, from the perspective of workers. In addition, we will seek to investigate the effects of socio-occupational socio-demographic factors on the perception of moral harassment. The study will adopt the mixed method, characterizing the quantitative stage as a descriptive and exploratory research, of the relational type, ex post facto, cross-sectional, and the qualitative stage as an exploratory research. The Project was approved by the CEP of UFSB, under opinion number: 5,804,225 (CAAE 61822122.4.0000.8467) and data collection for the quantitative stage already took place between January and May 2023. The sample size for this stage was 747 SUAS workers. The Labor Scale of Moral Harassment (ELAM), the Scale of Perception of the Quality of Working Conditions and Employment Relationship in the context of social assistance (EPCTVT), developed for this study, and a socio-demographic and socio-occupational questionnaire were used. The descriptive analyzes of the data have already been carried out and the socio-demographic and socio-occupational characteristics of the participants will be presented here. A mapping of the occurrence of moral harassment within the scope of the Unified Social Assistance System will also be presented. In order to investigate relationships between moral harassment, adverse working conditions, and precarious employment relationships and the possible effects of socio-demographic and socio-occupational variables on the occurrence of moral harassment, inferential statistics will be used. All analyzes of the quantitative stage will be performed in IBM SPSS Statistics 22 and the adopted significance level will be 0.05. The qualitative stage will be developed through the conversation technique, based on preliminarily defined guiding axes that will serve as a guide for the conversation. The analysis of the informational data will be carried out through the Nuclei of Meaning, a methodological proposal from the field of Socio-Historical Psychology. It is hoped that this research can bring benefits to professionals working in SUAS, in terms of a greater understanding of the multiple factors involved in the phenomenon, as well as for public policies, in particular, for the National Social Assistance Policy, a since it may shed light on a reality that is still unknown and even repressed by public service worker(s) health promotion and prevention bodies. More than that, the results of this research may offer subsidies to plan actions or intervention programs aimed at combating the phenomenon of moral harassment in the SUAS social assistance network.
